The Characters

Luke An angel of death who is new to the job of leading people to the end of their lives (death). He has supernatural powers and uses them as needed to help the people he has to guide to their final moment. His work is assigned to him from God. He is considered a rookie angel. His experiences will eventually lead him to his biggest challenge.

Ephraim An elder angel assigned as overseer to Luke and his assignments. He checks in with Luke periodically to see how the work is coming. He guides Luke in assisting with the death files.

Roam A demon, Hinder-class. Roam wanders his assigned region feeding off the emotions and evil deeds of those he influences. He discovers Luke is a novice and seeks to sway him into “interfering” with the humans. He regards Luke as a challenge.

Madame Solage A spiritual woman who does readings and has psychic powers. She is aware of Luke’s presence on earth. She is not sure where or what exactly his mission is, however she knows that he is associated with death. She spends time trying to reach Luke. Each time she thinks she is close, she is mislead or deceived, usually by her own perception of certain situation.

Viola An island beauty. She is an assistant at Madame Solage’s vision parlor. Because of her innocence and purity she is able to see things of the spirit with her physical eyes.

Linda, Luke’s Secretary. She helps Luke with his administrative work. She has her suspicions about Luke. But is not sure of Luke’s true identity.

Detective Roberts A older guy who has been on the police force for many years. He is dedicated to his work, and finds himself as one of the detectives who will follow the man “dressed in black” (Luke) trail as he tries to solve the mysterious association of death whenever this man comes around.

Detective Johnson A rookie detective, who is partnered with Detective Roberts. He is new to detective work, and looks to Roberts to help him and mentor him. Together these two men set out to discover who, what and where the man dressed in black came from.

Synopsis

As well as your loved ones, if you are lucky enough to have them, who will be beside you while on your death bed? If the file has been assigned to Luke, he will be there.

Luke, like any of us, was born through natural means. However, unlike most, he is a chosen vessel to be an angel of death to those he is assigned to. Born to Myra and Lucius Owens, Luke was a socially reticent child. His mother was doting, believing he was “special.” His father was an officer of the Armed Forces and sometimes a violent drinker. Lucius was disappointed in his son for not being more outgoing and competitive.

As Luke grew his mother noticed something truly “special” about him. Luke claimed to hear and see things she could not. He was always able to decipher his mother's true feelings, as she tried to conceal them. He was able to discern the emotions and thoughts of others as well, especially his father and classmates.

Luke did not excel in school due to his fatalist mentality. He went along with the work but did not apply as one should. Children at school perceived him as “strange,” “aloof.” The only book he would
read was the Bible. He did not pray; he never felt a need to.

Luke radiated an air of superiority that three of his classmates had had quite enough of. On a drug induced rampage these classmates of his, beat and killed Luke. Luke died at the age of 17.

With his death our story begins.

Luke, like any businessman, now has an office and secretary. He has grown some years, as our eyes would notice. His assignments are given to him by his overseer, Ephraim, an elder angel. The files given to him are of everyday people that will soon meet their end. As angels, they are instructed not to directly interfere with humans. However, Luke will learn these laws can be bent.

With each death file, Luke will grow and learn to deal with people, their emotions, and battle those who would drag people down to the depths, the demons. One demon, Roam, discovers Luke is a novice and seeks to push Luke into “interfering” and “feed” off the
emotions and evil deeds of the humans.

Luke will come to be pursued by two Detectives Johnson and Roberts who continue to discover that a “man in black,” has been involved in many deaths across the area. The Detectives solicit the help of a “seer,” Madame Solage, to help them find who this “man in black,” is.

Luke must assist his people in releasing this life and prepare them for the next, whether a good place or bad; Luke is their last chance in leading them to their Final Moment.
